Lviv. It was the biggest in number political
organization of Western Ukraine’s lands. Its
programme included: “to gain conciliar and
independent Ukrainian state”, non-recognition
international treaties, by which Western
Ukraine had been given to Poland. Among its
leaders were: D. Levytsky, L. Bachynsky. It
ceased to exist in 1939, when Western
Ukraine became the part of USSR.
December XIV Congress of RCP(b). It changed its name
1925 into all-union AUCP(b). The Congress
declared the orientation towards
industrialization of the country. By that time,
the pre-war level of industrial production was
achieved (the year of 1913). The orientation
course provided for: to change the country
from agrarian into industrial one; from the
state-importer of machines and equipment
into the state-manufacturer; to secure
economic stability and independence,
strengthen defence potential, etc.

1926
May Lazar Kaganovych (headed CP(b)U since
1926 1925) accused Oleksandr Shumsky, the
Commissar of Education of Ukraine of
nationalistic inclination. It was
implementation of orders, given by Y. Stalin
in April, 1926 in the letter “To comrade
Kaganovych and other members of Politburo
of CC CP(b)U”, which put the beginning to
struggle with nationalism in Ukraine.
December The first census of population was conducted.
