On the other hand, affixes – both those situated before the
stem (preffixes) and those occurring after the stem (suffixes) –
require a stem in order to form a term: anti- antibody, -al
                            duodenal, -tion commutation.
From the point of view of morphological form, terms are
classified according to the following criteria, which are not
                            mutually exclusive:
                                  1. According to the number of constituent morphemes, terms
                            can be either
 simple ones equals a root morpheme: acid, molecule, cell,
                            consume, hydrate (гідрат)
 non-simple terms are formed with the help of a root and
                            affixes: acidification (окислення), intramolecular
                            (внутрішньомолекулярний), cellular (клітинний), consumer,
                            consumption, hydrating (гідратоутворення)
                                  2. According to the types of morphemes that play a role in
                            term creation terms can be
 derived terms are formed by adjoining an affix to a lexical
base) illness, receiver, bedding ((основа) залягання), chalky
                            (крейдяний), oiler (танкер), warning, durability
                            (витривалість), assurer/assuror (стахувальник).
 compounds combine lexical bases to which affixes can then
be adjoined as well: telephotography, transmission,
countercyclical, bedrock (корінна порода), chalk-stone (вапняк),
oil-fired (працюючий на рідкому палеві), earthshock.
                                                     TERMS
