4.3. Acronyms are abbreviated forms of expressions that
contain several words that are always used together. Acronyms are
usually created by combining the first letter of each word in the
expression. True acronyms are always pronounced as if they were
one word. For example 'laser' (light amplification by stimulated
emission of radiation), Amex (American stock exchange), hazmat
(hazardous material (вибухонебезпечна речовина), bit (binary
digit), SCOPE (supervisory control of program execution), HASP
(Houston automatic spooling procedure), raddef – radiological
defence, Sonar – sound navigation and ranging, Radar – radio
detection and ranging
There are terms that do not conveniently fit into one category
or another. Such 'terms' as CD ROM (each pronounced as a
combination of letters and a 'word') or D&A (dry and
abandonment непродуктивна і ліквідована свердловина).
From the standpoint of the function they have in discourse,
terms can be classified into various functional groups:
 Nouns damper (демпфер), cash cow (прибутковий
бізнес)
 Adjectives dempered (амортизований), cashless
(безготівковий)
 Verbs demp (демпувати, амортизувати), to cash
(отримати гроші за вексель)
 Adverbs onstream (у процесі експлуатації)
For sure there are more nouns that verbs and adjective in the
professional discourse.

4.2 The Classification of Terms in Accordance with Their
Semantic Structure.
From the point of view of meaning terms can be classified
by the class of concepts they designate. Concepts can be grouped
