1213 The boyar Volodyslav Kormylchych
“became the prince” in Halych, violating the
regulations of medieval law as heirs to the
throne at law were still alive – Roman’s sons
Danylo and Vasylko.
1214-1221 As a result of the treaty of Hungary and
Poland (the Hungarian king’s son Coloman
was wedded to the Polish princess Solomeya)
Coloman was proclaimed the king of
Halychyna.
1221-1228 The rule of Novhorod prince Mstyslav the
Bold (from minor Kyiv prince by origin). His
army defeated Hungarians and Halychyna
was liberated from foreign reign (Coloman
and Solomeya were taken prisoners and
released in 1222 in exchange for their
abdication of Halychyna).
1228 After Mstyslav’s the Bold death Halychyna
was taken under the authority of
Hungarians again.
1238 Danylo Halytskyi after long-lasting struggle
restored the ruling of Romanovychy dynasty
in Halych and Galicia-Volhynia state.
1238-1264 The rule of Danylo Halytskyi:
1238 1) defeated the Order of the Teutonic Knights
near the city of Dorohochyn;
1239 2) spread his power over Kyiv and put
Dmytro the Tysyatskyi to reign there;
1244 3) seized the city of Lublin and conquered the
