under the condition of renunciation of the
orthodox faith and adoption of Roman
                              Catholicism. In M. Hrushevsky’s opinion
“…the mass of Rus boyars drowned in Polish
                              szlachta sea”.
1434 In Halychyna everything was converted to
                              the Polish order:
                              Polish judicial and administrative systems,
                              szlachta self-administration, the Polish
                              language as official were introduced.

PART ІІ. The occupation of Norhtern Bukovyna by Moldavian
                                     princedom.
1359 The Newly formed Moldavian princedom
                              occupied Northern Halychyna (the so-called
Shypin lands). It caused the discontent of
Poland and resulted in the campaign against
Moldavia with no success. In 1514 Moldavian
princedom (Northern Bukovyna as its part)
                              became the vassal of Turkey.

                       PART ІІІ. Struggle for Transcarpathia.
In the 11-th century Hungary occupied Uzhhorod, Mukachevo,
Hust and other cities of Transcarpathia. By the 13-th century all
lands of Transcarpathia became the part of Hungarian Kingdom.
Later the prince Lev Danylovych won the part of Transcarpathia
back, but in some time it was lost again.
1526 In the battle under Mohach the Turks defeated
Hungarian army and it resulted in the division
of Hungary into 3 parts. Transcarpathia was
                              divided between Transylvania (Mukacheve,
Berehove and other) and Austria (Uzhan
                              committee). The lands of Transcarpathia
