borders of the state to the mouth of the
Southern Bug river.
1308-1323 The rule of Lev II Yuriyovych and
AndriyYuriyovych, the last princes of
Romanovychy dynasty, who called
themselves “by mercy of God the princes of
the whole Rus, Halychyna and
Volodymyriya”. They provided protectionism
for trade, the city of Syanok received
Magdeburg law in 1320. The brothers-princes
are supposed to have been killed in the battle
with Tatars.
1325-1340 The rule of Yuriy II (Boleslav)
Troidenovych, the son of the last princes of
Romanovychy dynasty Lev’s II and Andriy’s
sister Mariya and Mazovets prince. He settled
relations with the Golden Horde and the Great
Principality of Lithuania (married Lithuanian
prince Hedymin’s daughter). The relations
with Poland were friendly first, but
aggravated later. In 1337 he carried out a
campaign against Lublin together with Tatars.
He protected foreigners, invited Germans and
Czechs, supported Catholic clergy. His death
(was poisoned by boyars) put the end to
independence of Galicia-Volhynia princedom.
