1357-1358 The Lithuanian prince Algirdas occupied
Chernihiv-Siversk lands.
1362 Kyiv passed to the rule of Lithuania,
Pereiaslav. From 1352 to 1395 Algirdas’s son
Volodymyr was the prince of Kyiv. It was he
who made the picture of the Archistratigus
Mykhailo on the red shield to be the coat of
arms of the Kyivan land.
1362 The battle of Lithuanians and Mongolo-
Tatars on the Syni Vody river (the left
tributary of the Southern Bug river), resulting
in defeat of the Golden Horde troops and
opened the way of annexation of Podillya and
other Ukrainian lands to the Grand
principality of Lithuania.
1385 The Union of Krewo of Poland and
Lithuania, which was formalized as the
marriage contract of Lithuanian prince Jogaila
and Polish queen Jadwiga. Jogaila became the
Polish king (crowned in Krakow under the
name of Vladyslav II). In his turn he had to
annex the Grand principality of Lithuania to
Poland for good, adopt Christianity according
to Catholic ceremony and christened all
population “from the small to the big”.
1392 According to the treaty in Ostriv city (Poland)
