November, 8 President of Ukraine V. Yushchenko
2006 conferred an order “For Courage” of the first
degree to founders and active members of the
Ukrainian Social Group for their contribution
to execution of Helsinki treaties. It was
performed due to the 30-th anniversary of the
organization establishment. Most of them
were awarded posthumously.
November, 15 International media forum “Ukraine on the
2006 information map of the world” was opened in
Kyiv. More than 300 journalists and media
experts from 25 world countries participated
in it. V. Yushchenko delivered a speech to the
forum participants.
November, 16 The Supreme Council adopted at the first
2006 reading the bill “About the Cabinet of
Ministers”. 247 deputies supported it. On
December, 22 the bill was adopted at the
second reading. The President of Ukraine put
a veto on it, but on January, 12, 2007, the
Supreme Council by 366 votes (121 of BYT
faction) overrode the President’s “veto”.
November, 28 The Supreme Council adopted the law
2006 “About famishment of 1932-1933 in
Ukraine”, which was recognized as genocide
against Ukrainian people.
March, 30 Kyiv became the arena of political actions,
2007 organized by coalition of people’s unity and
opposition forces (BYT, “Our Ukraine” and
