May, 30 The central headquarters of partisan
1942 movement (CHPM) was established. On June,
20, 1942 the Ukrainian headquarters of
partisan movement (UHPM) was formed. T.
Strokach headed it.
June, 28 – The attack of German troops in Donbas. As
July, 24 1942 its result, the whole territory of Ukraine was
occupied. The last town, occupied by
Germans, was Sverdlovsk, Luhansk oblast. It
happened on July, 22, 1942.
July, 17 1942 – The battle of Stalingrad. It was the beginning
February, 2 of a radical turning point in the Great Patriotic
1943 War. The strategic imitative was on the side
of red army again.
October, 14 The establishment of UIA (Ukrainian
1942 Insurgent Army). The first insurgent
detachments of OUN (b) were formed in
Volyn’ and Polissia in simmer, 1942. Military
detachments of “The Polissia Sich” under
commandment of Taras Bulba-Borovets
fought against Soviet partisans since autumn,
1941. The official date of birth of UIA
became October, 14, 1942. The date was
introduced by the Ukrainian Central
Liberation Council to coincide with the
Intercession of the Holy Virgin. In summer,
1943 UIA enumerated 20 thousand members.
It made it possible to use active forms of
struggle with occupants. In autumn, 1943, the
Central Command and the Central Military
