Cloud computing is an internet service that provides computing

               power to the users.

Use of cloud computing resources requires payment of a fee which

is based on the amount of computing time and other resources consumed

by the user. With cloud computing, a company can diversify its network

and server infrastructure. Some cloud computing providers provide an

automatic increase in the network and server capacity as the user’s

demand of computing resources' increases. Industry giants, such as

Microsoft and Google, are predicting a bright future of cloud computing.

Microsoft’s focus is on developing enterprise tools while Google is

focused on developing consumer-based application. The small businesses

need occasional computing power, storage, and services.

Such requirements make web applications an ideal choice for small

business. Pay-as-you go type of services such as Amazon’s web services

is gaining popularity among small businesses.

In Grid computing, many networked sever and/or personal

computers act as one large computer. A company may pay for the use of

the grid based on the amount of time the computing and other resources

were consumed. Grid computing is often utilized in research such as life-

               science problems and climate research.
