     VIRTUALIZATION
Virtualization refers to sharing or pooling of computing resources
such as servers and storage devices. Server virtualization allows dividing
a physical server logically into many virtual servers. From user's point of
view, the virtual server behaves just like physical server. Virtualization
offers many advantages. Virtual servers can be created and configured
quickly without requiring a physical server. Virtual servers are also easy
               to manage.
In storage virtualization, a single logical storage device can be
created from many physical storage devices. For example, you can
combine various hard disks from various servers located in different
geographical locations to appear as a single large hard disk to the users of
the storage. With server virtualization, the storage can be configured
quickly, and it may not be necessary to purchase additional storage
devices. Virtual storage is also easier to manage than traditional storage.
In general, virtualization is cost effective and you may also need
fewer people to manage the hardware.
                       CLOUD COMPUTING AND GRID COMPUTING
With increasing demand of computing resources, companies
increasingly find it more economical to use outside computing resources
rather than building new internal computing capacity. Cloud computing
and Grid computing are two new technologies that provide massive online
               computing power with great flexibility.
