                       NETWORK ATTACHED STORAGE (NAS)

                       It is a networked storage whose sole purpose is to provide storage to

               user  and  information  systems  attached  to  the  network.  Network

               administrators  can  simply  extend  the  available  storage  capacity  by


               attaching new network attached storage server to the network.

                       With the passage of time, NAS devices are becoming less expensive.

               NAS devices can provide an additional storage capacity of 6 TB or more.

               Figure 14-10 illustrates the working of NAS.
