Currently, web services management standards are developing and

no history of best practices exists. Therefore, Business partners need a

detailed agreement on quality of service and service level specifications

for each web service used. Security can be an issue for web services

because web services feed data directly to company’s internal

applications, bypassing any security features used at a company's network

perimeter. In order to make web services simpler and more acceptable,

these issues need to be worked out.

                       SERVICE – ORIENTED ARCHITECTURE (SOA)

Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is a technology that simplifies

               integration.

SOA provides business functionality as a service. A service is a

reusable software component that can be used as a building block to form

larger, more complex business-application functionality. SOA is designed

not to replace but augment and extend the existing processes, where

               necessary.

SOA has been used for applications that provide connectivity to

back-end systems inside of the enterprise. Applications using SOA are

more flexible than the traditional applications developed utilizing point-

to-point communication. In E-commerce, SOA can be used to provide

access to service across various participants through a common interface

               that connects to several services.

In the complex E-commerce infrastructure, there are many service

providers e.g. payment service providers, and each service provider has
