1729– 1731        D.    Apostol    performed         "General
                              investigation  of  landed  property",  checking
                              the rights of owners for their landed property
                              as  many  land assets granted to starshynas  in
                              temporary  use  for  their  service  were  turned
                              into the private and hereditary ones.
            1728– 1743        During the period of D. Apostol’s hetman rule
                              the special code commission was formed in
                              1728. It was supposed to make up the code of
                              active laws in Ukraine. It finished its work in
                              15 years with the code named “The rights of
                              trial for people of Little Russia’. However, the
                              Senate  did  not  approve  that  code  as  it  was
                              based  on  the  principles  of  preservation  of
                              Ukrainian autonomy.
            1733              D.  Apostol  achieved,  that  by  tsar’s  decree
                              Kyiv  was  subject  to  hetman,  but  not  to  the
                              general-governor  as  before.  But  after
                              Apostol’s  death  Kyiv  was  directly  placed
                              under Russian authority again (1737).
            1734              The  return  of  Zaporozhian  Cossacks  from
                              Oleshiv Sich. With the tsar’s permission they
                              came  back  to  their  old  places  of  residence
                              from under the Turkish rule. They were also
                              allowed  to  found  Nova  Sich  over  the
                              Pidpil’na river.
            1734– 1750        The rule of hetman government. After
                              D.  Apostol’s  death  Russia  did  not  allow
                              elections  of  a  new  hetman  and  power  was
                              resigned  to  the  so-called  Board  of  hetman
                              government,  which  included  6  people:  3
                              Ukrainians  and  3  Russian  officials.  It  was
                              headed  by  prince  O.  Shakhovsky  till  1737,
