wounded, then died in 1622. He was buried in
the Bratsky Monastery of Kyiv.
1625 The Cossack uprising headed by Mark
Zhmailo. The crucial battle took place in
October near the city of Krylov and later near
Kurukiv lake. According to it the register
counted 6 thousand, but Cossacks were to
destroy boats and refuse from marine
campaigns and not to maintain relations with
foreign states. The hetman mace was passed
to Mykhailo Doroshenko.
1625– 1628 The hetmanate of Mykhailo Doroshenko.
The registered Cossacks were divided into 6
regiments (1thousand each), territorial-
administrative and military units. He carried
out campaigns against the Crimea and
Turkey. He lost his life in 1628 in the Crimea.
1630 The uprising of unregistered Cossacks
headed byTaras Tryasylo (Fedorovych).
Zaporizhzhya Cossacks headed by Tryasylo
set out from Sich and defeated the crown
army and registered Cossacks. The new treaty
was signed, according to which, the register
was increased to 8 thousand, the privileges of
Cossack starshyna were preserved, etc.
1632 The establishment of Kyivan board by Petro
Mohyla. The Kyivan brotherhood school
united with the school of Kyiv-Pecherskaya
Laura and gave life to the famous Kyiv-
Mohyla board – higher educational
establishment with brotherhood schools of
Vinnytsia and Kremenets as its subordinates.
