conducted. A wide range of issues was
discussed including “the gas issue”.
February, 29 In Severodonetsk, Luhansk oblast, the second
2008 All-Ukrainian congress of deputies of all
levels took place. More than 3600 participants
attended it. Among them there were 159
people’s deputies of Ukraine. A wide range of
issues was discussed: the problem of
Ukraine’s joining NATO, the defence of
rights of the Russian language, the problems
of famishment and OUN–UIA. At the same
time, the alternative public meeting “One
nation – one Ukraine” was conducted.
March, 3 “Gazprom” reduced volumes of gas supply to
2008 Ukraine by 25%. The reasons for that were
unsettled debts and failure to sign relevant
contracts. On March, 4 supply volumes were
reduced for another 25%. In its turn, Ukraine
declared that ‘Gazprom” had not paid for gas
transit by the territory of Ukraine to European
countries. On March, 5 supply volumes were
renewed. On March, 13 “Naftogaz Ukrayina”
reached an agreement with “Gazprom” and
signed the Agreement of development of
relations in gas sphere.
March, 4 The Minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine V.
2008 Ohryzko and the Minister of foreign affairs of
Poland R. Sikorsky in Warsaw paraphed the
Agreement about principles of small border
movement. The agreement included 1822
Polish population centres (about 800 thousand
