June, 9 1919 Otaman P. Balabochan made an attempt of
coup d’etat. He wanted to arrest S. Petliura
the Council of People’s Ministers in
Proskuriv, seized power and form his own
government. The revolt was suppressed; P.
Balabochan was shot on June, 28.
June, 20 1919 The UPR delegation concluded a temporary
treaty with Poles in Lviv about cessation of
arms.
July, 15 1919 Ukrainian Galician Army crossed the
Zbruch river without being able to contain
Polish troops and united with UPR army to
fight against Bolsheviks.
July, 17 1919 The Bolsheviks of Ukraine adopted the
resolution “About kulak and White Guard
counterrevolution in village”. It introduced
mutual responsibility, taking of hostages,
military blockade of villages. Using mass
terror, they were trying to put an end to
peasant insurrectionary movement.
The end of Unified Ukrainian army (about 80 thousand)
July-August moved forward to Right Bank Ukraine. The
1919 attack was conducted in 3 directions: Kyiv
(Galician army), Odesa (UPR army), and
Zhytomyr (Galician army).
August, 30 The UGA units under the commandment of
1919 general A. Kravs occupied Kyiv and liberated
from Bolsheviks. But at the same time, from
the east the troops of general Bredov entered
Kyiv by means of bridges over the Dnipro
