Diaspora – the movement of people from any nation or group
away from their own country.
Soviet – connected with the former USSR: Soviet Russia,
Soviet troops.
Invasion – the act of an army entering another country by
force in order to take control of it.
Renaissance – the period in Europe during the 14-th, 15-th and
17-th centuries when people became interested in the ideas and
culture of ancient Greece and Rome and used these influences
in their own art, literature.
Subscription – an amount of money you pay, usually once a
year, to receive copies of newspaper or magazine.
Nationalism – a feeling of love and pride in your country, a
feeling that your country is better than any other.
Immigration – the process of coming to live permanently in a
country that is not your own.
Slogan – a word or phrase that is easy to remember, used for
example by a political party or in advertising to attract people's
attention or to suggest an idea quickly.
Citizen – a person who has the legal right to belong to a
particular country; a person who lives in a particular place.
Community – all the people who live in a particular area,
country, when talked about as a group; a group of people who
share the same religion, race, job, etc.
Issue – one of the regular series of magazines or newspaper.
