COMPUTER-AIDED ENGINEERING (CAE)

It refers to the use of computers to perform a wide variety of tasks

such as design, analysis, manufacturing, and material requirements

               planning (MRP).

                       COMPUTER-AIDED MANUFACTURING (CAM)

It refers to use of computers to control production equipment (e.g.

drills, lathes, and milling machines) and related machinery.

                       COMPUTER-INTEGRATED MANUFACTURING (CIM)

It refers to use of computers to control the entire manufacturing

process. CIM integrates many different operations of manufacturing

process. Processes can exchange information among each other and

               initiate appropriate actions.

                       MATERIAL REQUIREMENT PLANNING (MRP)

It refers to use of software to manage the manufacturing process.

MRP is a production planning and inventory control system that helps

monitor and control inventory and demand forecasting.

                       MRP-II

It is an extension of MRP which also includes software that helps in

scheduling, real-time tracking of production, and monitoring of product

               quality.
