               An enterprise information system is a single technology-based system that

               organizations use to provide better integration and coordination among

               various business processes.

                       Enterprise information systems provide access to information across


               various functional units and management levels. Enterprise information

               systems  help  provide  centralized  standard  data  structure  and  increases

               information  integrity.  A  typical  enterprise  information  system  runs

               enterprise software applications (such as an ERP system) that typically

               work across organizational boundaries.
