                  guaranteed,  the  institution  of  local  self-government,  and  the  state
                  power is built on the principle of its division into separate branches.
                         An integral part of the history of Ukrainian constitutions is the

                  acts  of  the  constitutional  essence  of  the  Carpathian  Ukraine  (in
                  particular, the Provisional Constitution of the Carpathian Ukraine of
                  1939) and the documents of the Ukrainian Main Liberation Council

                  (UHVR)  of  1940-1950,  (in  particular,  the  Provisional  Order  of  the
                  UHVR of 1944). The Constitution of the Ukrainian SSR of 1919 (its
                  version from 1925), 1929, 1937 and 1978 also influenced the history
                  of the Ukrainian constitutions.

                         After  the  re-establishment  of  Ukraine's  state  independence  in
                  1991, a diligent work aimed at creating a new constitution of Ukraine
                  began, which ended with its adoption on June 28, 1996. June 28 was

                  proclaimed a state holiday – the Day of the Constitution of Ukraine.
