3.1. The concept and content of the constitutional status of a
person and a citizen.
The concept of "a person" means, first of all, the biological
characteristic of the subject. A person is a living creature possessing a
gift of thought and language, an ability to work. Modern law, both
international and national law of Ukraine, envisages the principle of
equality of all people, living on earth. Every person has the right to
life, freedom, security, aspiration for happiness, resistance to
oppression.
The notion of "personality" is used in the sense of the social
characteristics of the subject. A person is an individually defined set
of socially significant properties of a person. A person becomes a
personality under the influence of society. Legally established rights,
freedoms and duties of a person constitute his/her legal status.
The notion of "citizen" is used in relation to a person having a
legal connection with any state.
The citizenship of Ukraine is understood as the legal relationship
between a natural person and Ukraine, which is expressed in their
mutual rights and responsibilities.
