6.1. The concepts and principles of international
environmental law.
International environmental law (or international environmental
law) - the branch of international law, a set of international principles
and norms regulating the social relations between its subjects in
relation to environmental protection, the use of natural resources and
the provision of environmental safety in the interests of present and
future generations.
Proceeding from the fact that the reason for the formation of this
branch of law was the need to solve global environmental problems
through the international exchange of experience and technologies, the
transboundary nature of pollution of the environment, the principles of
international environmental law should as much as possible meet the
needs of optimal interaction of society and the environment.
Principles of international environmental law are divided into
generally accepted and special sectoral. Commonly recognized
principles in the field of ecology include: recognition of state
sovereignty of each state, sovereign equality of individual states,
territorial integrity and integrity, international legal responsibility in
