Elementary: happy, long, short, beautiful, clever, clean,
tall, small, rich, strong.
Intermediate: free, lazy, wise, powerful, innocent, ugly,
smooth, faithful, fresh, colourful.
Advanced: juicy, graceful, brilliant, humble, irritable, sly,
rotten, romantic, obstinate, delicious.
New words
Learning/reviewing new vocabulary.
Procedure: Allow the students a minute or two to write one or
more new words they have recently come across and think that
other students may not know yet. Alternatively, they may use
dictionaries to clarify the meaning of a new word picked out of a
book. In pairs or small groups they then teach each other their
words. If there is time, a group can share its new words with the
entire class. Note down the words yourself for future review.
