19. You throw an ice cream wrapper on the ground. Your friend
                                says,  “Pick  it  up!”  You  say,  “Why  should  I  pick  up  the
                                wrapper?”
                            20. A  friend  you  have  not  seen  for  many  years  comes  to  your
                                house for a visit. Have a conversation about what each of you
                                have been doing for the past several years.
                            21. It is a Saturday afternoon and you are bored. There is nothing
                                interesting to do. Your friend says to you, “What do you want
                                to do?” You say, “I don’t know. What do you want to do?”
                            22. You and a friend are at a café eating lunch. You see an insect
                                in the food. You are very upset!
                            23. You describe your boyfriend to a friend. She also describes her
                                boyfriend to you. You both realize the boyfriend is the same
                                boy.
                            24. You are at a friend’s house admiring an expensive vase. You
                                accidentally drop the vase and it breaks. What do you do next?
                            25. You  sit  down  in  a  chair,  but  you  accidentally  sit  on  your
                                friend’s     eyeglasses. The eyeglasses are broken badly. Talk to
                                your friend about breaking his eyeglasses.
                            26. You are in a restaurant with your girl/boy friend, and have had
                                a good dinner. The waiter  is waiting  for  you to pay the  bill.
                                However, you forgot your money.

                            27. A new student has entered your group; talk to him/her about
                                the good and bad points of the university.
                            28. You are trying to tell your English teacher how to find a certain
                                place in the city. Pick a place and give directions to it.
                            29. You receive a poor mark in English and want to complain. Try
                                to convince the teacher to change your grade because you have
                                many absences from class.
                            30. You must speak with the Department Dean or Chairperson of
                                the University you would like to attend. Convince him/her you
                                will be a great student.
                            31. Your teacher asks you, “Why were you absent yesterday? Your
                                mother  said  you  were  not  ill  and  should  have  been  in  the
                                university.” Explain what you were doing.
