revolutionary process from “down”, which
finally led to failure of the communist
totalitarian system. The national state revival
of Ukraine became the constituent part of that
process.

1985 with drunkenness and alcoholism”. The
campaign was an example of executive
foolishness, as everything came to cutting
down and ruining of considerable acreages of
vineyards, liquidation of wine-making plants
and introduction of the so-called “non-alcohol
weddings”. In Ukraine, it led to sugar
shortage; drug and toxic addiction spread.
