TITLES, COURTESIES TO INDIVIDUALS

1. Перекладіть текст письмово, використовуючи словник:
All military and naval personnel are usually addressed in official correspondence,

by their full titles. In conversation or unofficial correspondence, Army, Air Force
and Marine personnel, male and female, are addressed as follows: all GEN offs -

"General"; COLS and LTC - "Colonel"; MAJs - "Major"; CPTs - "Captain"; all
LTs "Lieutenant"; cadets and WOs - "Mister (Miss)"; all SGTs - "Sergeant"; CPLs

- "Corporal"; PVTs - "Private". When the name isn't known a private may be
addressed as "Soldier".

In addressing to or introducing CPTs in the Navy or Coast Guard, it is customary

to add, after the name, "of the Navy", or "of the Coast Guard", because the grade of

Captain in the Navy and Coast guard corresponds to the grade of COL in the

Army, Air Force, and Мarines. Any off in command of a ship, regardless of the

size and class of the ship is addressed as "Captain". EM of the Navy or Coast

Guard are addressed either by their speciality or by their last name. A Chief Petty
