So, there are a number of editing definitions that indicate that editing is a

check (review, in other words, analysis, control) and correction of messages during

preparation for publication. As we see, in these definitions the concept of analysis

is used. Make such an analysis can only be provided when compared to what is in

the message that would have to be in it ideally. Obviously, here are some criteria to

use: models, templates, parameters, etc., which are nothing more than norms.

Consequently, the implicit presence in these definitions of the notion of norm

indicates that they are fully consistent with the normative concept of editing.

There are also other definitions of the subject of editing. Yes, they indicate

that editing is the processing of messages from the point of view of its acceptance

by the recipients (another variant of such a definition: editing-transformation of the

message from the author's level to the recipient's level. However, in analyzing this

definition, it is not difficult to establish that in such a concept for editing use

psychological , psycholinguistic and informational norms of perception and

processing by recipients of messages. Consequently, definitions of this type are

also included in the normative concept.

It is also pointed out that editing is the preparation of messages prior to

posting. However, it is unlikely that such a definition can be taken seriously,

because it is too broad, and, consequently, is not scientific in nature, stating the

obvious. It is necessary to stop and to belong to editing operations of correction of

the text, because some researchers consider to be edited only the operations of its

analysis.
