1.3 The Labour Code of Ukraine
The Labour Code of Ukraine was approved by a law of Ukrainian Soviet
Socialist Republic on December 10, 1971, and entered into force on June 1, 1972.
The Labor Code has undergone numerous changes and additions.
The Labor Code of Ukraine (Labor Code) regulates the labor relations of the
social nature of all workers and employers (a collective agreement, state insurance).
The collective agreement (Article 10 of the Labor Code) (agreement) is the
most important document in the system of normative regulation of the relationship
between the employer and the employee on social issues, including on labor
protection.
It should contain basic provisions on labor and wages, provisions on working
time, rest time, material incentives, labor protection, improving production and labor,
strengthening industrial and labor discipline, social issues and more
Legal regulation methods in the document related to labour protection are
not confined by Chapter XI “Labour Protection”.
Labour protection norms are also contained in many articles of other chapters
of the Labour Code of Ukraine, such as
“Labour Contract”,
“Working Time”,
“Periods of Rest”,
“Women’s Labour”,
“Minors Labour”,
“Trade Unions”,
“Supervision and control of adherence to labour legislation”,
“Guarantees and compensations”.
1.4 Law of Ukraine "Mandatory State Social Insurance" and
Other Laws of Ukraine Concerning Labor Protection Issues
The law of Ukraine "Mandatory State Social Insurance" considers the
following types of social insurance:
1) in case of temporary disability;
2) against industrial accidents and occupational diseases which caused
temporary or permanent disability (we'll describe this type of insurance);
4
