crystalline lattice. The points in which the particles are located are called the

nodes of the crystalline lattice. In the nodes of the lattice may be placed ions,

atoms, or molecules. Depending on the type of particles and the nature of the

connection between them, there are four types of crystalline lattices: ionic, atomic,

molecular, and metallic.
