BASIC TYPES OF MANAGERS' ACTIVITY (BUSINESS COMMUNICATION)
Management in all business and human organization activity is the act of getting people
together to accomplish desired goals and objectives. Management comprises planning,
organizing, staffing, leading or directing, and controlling an organization, deployment and
manipulation of human resources, financial resources, technological resources, and natural
resources.
Probably the most important foundation skill for workers in the new environment is the
ability to communicate. This means being able to listen as well as to express your ideas
effectively in writing and in speech. As you advance in your career, communication skills
become ever more important. Good communications are basic to successful management.
Business Communication is the type of communication used in order to: promote an
organization, service, and product; and to impart information towards. employees. It is very
vital in every business to have a medium in order to communicate with employees, clients,
serviceproviders and others. There is a standard rule to follow in order to be professional
enough to deal with calls and writing letters. There are two main forms of business
communication:
1. Intemal communication, i.e. communication within the business.
2. External communication, i.e. communication outside the business.
Internal communication is essential to attracting and retaining a talented staff. You must
provide the direction for the company by consistently communicating that message; you must
motivate your staff through various forms of communication, which can include awards,
newsletters, meetings, telephone calls and formal and informal discussions. Typical forms of
internal communication include: electronic mail, company websites, company databases, face-
to– face interactions, phone communications. Staff magazines, notices and posters on staff
notice boards provide other means of internal communications. External communication
reaches out to the customer to make him or her aware of your product or service and to give the
customer a reason to buy. This type of communication includes your brochures, various forms
of advertising, contact letters, telephone calls, Web sites and anything else that makes the
public aware of what you do. Oral communication is performed in the form of phone calls, and
direct face to face interactions. Oral communication is very important in service industries and
staff in organisation like banks, insurance companies. Online communications – have become
particularly important with the development of e– commerce. Most large companies have
commercial websites enabling customers to buy online. Communication involves the
transmission of information from a source (or a number of sources) to receivers. The
information is communicated in the form of a message. Effective communication is an essential
part of a smoothly running business organisation. In the modern organisation there will be
multi-channel flows of communication. The effectiveness of communications depends on:
