tied back to the platform for control at deck level. Key components
are simple and inherently reliable but will have redundant backups
and are replaceable for inspection and maintenance.

TEMPLATE
The 21-well unitized template design shown in fig. 2.29
was based on strength requirements and use of an easily
procurable material. Possible installation and leveling techniques
are discussed fully in "Floating Drilling."
This template contains 17 standard wellhead receptacles in
addition to four leveling pile inserts that may become well slots
upon completion of the leveling operations. The 21 wells share
guideposts, as they are spaced 8 Vz ft between centers. Also
included at one end of the template structure is a sales riser
