9 . 4 Standardization of A rtificial and N atural L ighting of
I ndustrial P remises
Each activity requires a specific level of illumination in the area where the
activity takes place.
In general, the higher the difficulty for visual perception, the higher the average
level of illumination should be as well. Guidelines for minimal levels of illumination
associated with different tasks exist in various publications.
Concretely, those listed in figure 9.2 have been gleaned from European norms
CENTC 169, and are based more on experience than on scientific knowledge.

The importance of standardizing illumination is not subject to doubt and is
determined, on the one hand, by the costs that are necessary for the implementation
and operation of lighting, on the other - the hygienic, industrial and economic effect
