Checking and adjusting the thermal gaps in the gas
distributing engine engine
11.1 Goal of the work. The purpose of the work is to
develop practical skills and abilities of students in determining
the values of the value of thermal gaps in the valve of the gas
distributing mechanism (GDM) and the torque points of the
engine head cylinder, the skills of performing adjusting and
fastening operations, checking the quality of the work.
11.2 Knowledge and skills. In the course of the
laboratory work, the student must know the values of the
thermal gaps in the gas distributing mechanism; sequence of
regulation of thermal gaps in gas distributing mechanism;
thermal state of the engine at the time of regulation; sequence
of tightening of nuts of fastening of a head of cylinders;
tightening torques of the cylinder head mounting nuts.
After performing the laboratory work the student must be
able to: measure the thermal gaps in the GDM engine; adjust
the heat gaps according to the manufacturer's specifications; To
execute tightening of nuts of fastening of a head of cylinders.
11.3 General Terms and Conditions. The amount of
thermal gaps in the GDM significantly influences the power
and speed characteristics of the engine. As the gaps increase,
the filling of the cylinders with the combustible mixture
deteriorates, the power of the engine falls, knocks arise. As the
gaps are reduced, the heads of the valves fall and the power
decreases. Therefore, the thermal gaps in the thermostat must
be checked and regulated.
The heat gaps are regulated on a cold diesel engine or at
least 30 minutes later. after stopping it. The sequence of
adjustment of the clearance in cylinders in each of the positions
of the crankshaft is determined by the order of the engine such
as KamAZ-740 ... I / 1-5, II / 2-4, III / 3-6, IV / 7-8.
