The first position is determined in relation to the
beginning of fuel injection in the first cylinder, the other - by
turning the crankshaft at angles 180, 360 and 540 for the
KamAZ-740 engine.
In the KamAZ-740 engine the gaps are regulated
simultaneously on two cylinders, which according to the order
of work alternate one after the other during compression cycles.
In this case, the valves of these cylinders must be closed. The
beginning of the fuel supply in the first cylinder is determined
by the installation of the latch in the groove of the flywheel. At
the same time, the labels on the end of the case of the fuel
injection prevention coupling and on the flange of the cylinder
head should be in the upper position for the fuel pump.
Before adjusting the heat gaps in the engine valves, it is
necessary to tighten the bolts of fastening of cylinder heads, for
which it is necessary to remove their covers. The tightening is
carried out on a cold engine for at least three doses with a
torque wrench and a set of clamping keys in accordance with
the order established by the factory, with the corresponding
force moment:
1st reception– 40-50Nm; 2nd reception – 120-150Nm;
3rd reception - in accordance with the permissible values set by
the manufacturer.
Also, it is necessary to check the moment of tightening
the nuts of the shaft mounting arm. It should be 40-50 N · m.
To regulate valve clearance, it is necessary to loosen the
nut of the adjusting screw, insert in the gap between the valve
and the bolt of the needle of the required thickness, and, turning
the screw with a screwdriver, to establish a gap equal 0,2-0,25
mm. Hold the screw with a screwdriver, tighten the nut and
check the gap. The moment of tightening the nut of the
adjusting screw - 40-50Н⋅м.
