               2.1 Classification of Offshore Structures

                     Offshore  structures  may  be  defined  as  being  either  bottom-supported  or

               floating. Bottom supported structures are either “fixed” such as jackets and gravity

               base structures, or “compliant” such as the guyed tower and the compliant tower

               (fig. 2.1).
