The head includes all the stressed and unstressed syllable
beginning with the first stressed syllable up to the last stressed
syllable. The other terms used to denote this very part of the

pitch movement, the following main types of the scale are typical
of the English language: descending (Falling Head, Stepping
Head, Sliding Head), ascending (Rising Head), High Level Head
and Low Level Head.
A Stepping Head begins on a high pitch and then gradually
descends in level pitches on the stressed syllables of the utterance.
