                                   Marvelous!

Rise-Fall implies definiteness, finality, and particularly
shows that the speaker is greatly impressed performing thus the
function of the word “even”. R. Kingdon considers rise-fall
characteristic of children and women speech, though men also use
this tone when really involved in an exciting situation.

Be ready to answer the questions:
                                       1. What is called a head?
                                       2. What main types of head are there in the English
                                           language?
                                       3. What are the semantic functions of the head?
The head includes all the stressed and unstressed syllable
beginning with the first stressed syllable up to the last stressed
syllable. The other terms used to denote this very part of the
sentence are “a scare” or “a body”. According to the direction of
pitch movement, the following main types of the scale are typical
of the English language: descending (Falling Head, Stepping
Head, Sliding Head), ascending (Rising Head), High Level Head
                            and Low Level Head.
A Stepping Head begins on a high pitch and then gradually
descends in level pitches on the stressed syllables of the utterance.

The unstressed syllables are pronounced on the pitch of the
preceding stressed syllable. The Stepping Head is characteristic of
