Laboratory work №5

                              STUDYING THE STRUCTURE, WORKING PRINCIPLE
                                    AND CALIBRATION OF INCLINOMETERS

                                                  5.1 Purpose of the work

To study the physical basis of this method, structure and
work principle of the equipment, as well as an inclinometer
                            calibration

                                                         5.2 Theory

The wells are designed vertical or tilted-directional. During
the drilling of borehole deviates from the desired direction for
several reasons geological and technical. Actual deviation well
axis from vertical in any direction is called curvature of wells. It is
determined by the warping angle  and warping magnetic azimuth
. (Fig.5.1). The angle of well inclination measured between the
well axis and the horizontal plane, its equal to 90 ° - . Magnetic
azimuth of warping is defined by angle between the direction of
the magnetic north and horizontal projection axis of the well,
which was taken towards increasing the depth of the well. The
plane passing through the vertical axis and the well in a certain
depth interval, called the plane of warping.
Data on the warping well needed to determine the depth
location of slaughter and the real depth of the layers, the
calculation of normal power layers, to control the distortion of the
well and for identification the areas of sharp deviations borehole
that could complicate the descent of drilling tools, geophysical
                            instruments, casing and borehole filters.
