The method of editorial analysis of scientific text components
I. Read the following text.
The method of editorial analysis of components of any text is the main
component of the work of the editor over the text, because only after qualitative
and quantitative analysis of the scientific publication the editor can competently
and professionally edit its components.
Analysis (gr. analysis) - it is decomposition, dismemberment, disassembly)
is the process of breaking a complex topic or substance into smaller parts in order
to gain a better understanding of it. At the same time, the parts are studied not
separately from each other, but in the interrelationships, which give rise to
integrity.
The term "editorial analysis" is intended to denote the totality of all
procedures performed by the editor in the process of reading the manuscript for its
evaluation. In the course of editorial analysis, the editor profoundly understands
the content of the work, penetrates into its form. At the same time, he finds out
how the work will affect the reader, whether there is a difference between the
author's plan and the result of the perception of the work by the reader, the viewer,
the listener.
Thus, editorial analysis is a special study of a work by an editor to predict its
functioning in the recipient's environment.
Editorial analysis should solve three interrelated tasks:
1) the study of the work;
2) his assessment;
3) the development of necessary practical recommendations to the author regarding
the improvement of his manuscript.
The realization of these tasks is aimed at determining the real value of the
work and increasing its efficiency. This is the purpose of the editorial analysis.
