STUDY OF THE INSTALLATIONS
AND DEVICES FOR RESEARCHING
PROPERTIES OF FORMATION OIL
12.1 The objective of the experiment is: to study the structure
of the installation for researching formation oil (AFM-300M (АСМ-
300М)) and to study the downhole devices for fast measurements of
formation oil properties (expansimeter, saturimeter, triometer).
12.2 Definitions
There are a lot of installations for determination of formation oil
properties. Installation AFM-300M (АСМ-300М) is one of most
widespread among them. Installation AFM-300M (АСМ-300М) (fig.
12.1) is applied for determining the viscosity of formation oil; the
compressibility factor of formation oil; the density of formation oil;
the oil formation volume factor; the pressure of saturation of
formation oil by gas; gas content and gas solubility factor in oil.
Installation AFM-300M (АСМ-300М) consists of a measuring
press; a viscosimeter of high pressure UVHP-01 (ВВТУ-01); a
transformation device of the viscosimeter of high pressure UVHP-01
(ВВТУ-01); a downhole sampler; a swing for swinging the downhole
sampler; a vacuum-trap; a vacuum-pump; a thermostat; a head
reservoir (capacity); a liquid pump; an intermediate reservoir
(capacity). The installation is equipped by indicating pressure gages
(manometers) and vacuummeter.
The technical characteristics of installation (apparatus) AFM-
300M (АСМ-300М) are following:

the useful volume of the measuring press is 200 сm ;
the maximum pressure is 30 MPa;
the maximum working temperature is 100 °С.
Besides installation AFM-300M (АСМ-300М) have been
produced such installations as IRFO-2 (УИПН-2) with insignificant
