produced by our industry varies from 1600 to 300 000 and the
frequency of rotor’s rotation − from 1000 to 50000 revolutions/
minute.
Emulsions in centrifuges are divided by settling or filtration.
Depending on this centrifuges are with a massive rotor or with a
perforated rotor (covered by filtration material).
The centrifuges of such types are used in laboratories: the
centrifuges with a hand or electric drive; table (portable), movable and
stationary. By the magnitude of separation factor the centrifuges
are divided into ordinary (with the separation factor < 3500),
supercentrifuges and ultracentrifuges (with the separation factor
≥ 3500). The ordinary centrifuges are used for the separation of low
dispersivity (grain size is > 10 – 50 mcm) suspensions of different
concentration. Supercentrifuges are mainly used for the separation of
emulsions and high dispersivity suspensions (grain size is < 10 mcm).
The analytical and preparation ultracentrifuges with the separation
factor >100000 are used for the separation and research of high
dispersivity systems.
There are such models of centrifuges: hand centrifuge HC-4
(РЦ-4) (the main parts of this centrifuge are a cast iron body, a test
tube holder, a handle and a cramp (control-surface lock). The pinions
(worm-gear) are installed inside of the cast iron body. In this
centrifuge the separation can be simultaneously conducted in 4 test
tubes. For one turn of handle the test tube holder does 8 turns. For the
operation the centrifuge HC-4 (РЦ-4) is fastened by a clamp to the
laboratory table top or on the special stand); laboratory table
centrifuge LTC-2 (ЦЛН–2) (operates with the rotor of angular type

(centrifugate) is 60 сm . The frequency of rotor rotation is 3000 –
8000 revolutions/minute; the separation factor reaches up to
5500. The time of rotor acceleration to the maximum frequency of
rotation is 10 minutes, the braking time is less than 8 minutes, the time
of continuous operation is 60 minutes; the minimum obligatory
interruption (break) is 15 minutes. The working chamber of the
centrifuge LTC-2 (ЦЛН–2) is closed by the cover with a locking
mechanism. The mass of the centrifuge is 8 kg); angular small-sized
centrifuge ASSC-1(ЦКМ-1) (this centrifuge has a rotor-spider for
simultaneous centrifugation of liquids in four test tubes of capacity
