connected with cylinder (or hydraulic press) and manometer. Water
                  for the experiment is filtrated and vacuumized beforehand in capacity
                  4 (in order to remove the air dissolved in it). Before the experiment
                  the installation is vacuumized through valve 13 and manifold 5. Under

                  the pressure which is transmitted by gas (air) or oil the water comes
                  from the discharge capacity to the core holder 6 with the rock sample
                  and then to measuring capacity 9. The pressure behind the core is

                  measured by means of manometer (indicating pressure gage) 8 and
                  the pressure in front of the core is measured by means of manometer
                  (indicating pressure gage) 7. For the experiment carrying out
                  stopwatch is also needed.

                        Besides installation WCPE-1 (ВКТВ-1) the rock permeability
                  coefficient for water can be determined also using the installation

                  IIPC-1M (УДПК-1М). It is possible to model formation conditions

                  (pressure and temperature) by means of this installation. The
                  installation IIPC-1M (УДПК-1М) is also used for determining the
                  effective permeability coefficient. The installation IIPC-1M (УДПК-

                  1М) (figure 4.2) consists of 2 measuring presses; hand-power press;
                  tanks;  core  holder;  manometers;  filters;  differential  manometer;
                  cylinder  with  pressed  gas;  capacity  with  a  dryer;  piston  container;

                  electric  motor;  worm  reduction  gear;  friction  variable-speed  drive;
                  reduction gear of planet type and gears.

                                          4.4 Procedure and calculations

                        4.4.1 Measure the length and the diameter of the core and insert it

                  into core holder 6.

                        4.4.2 Fill capacity 4 with some filtered water and conduct water
                  vacuumizing till the air removes completely. Simultaneously by means

                  of valve 12 vacuumize the installation in condition that valves 11, 15,
                  18 are  closed.

                        4.4.3 Close valve 12 and stop vacuumizing. By means of valve 13

                  fill the system with some water and fill capacity 2 with oil.
                        4.4.4 Open the cylinder with gas and by means of microreducer

                  (reduction gear) 10 regulate the pressure in front of the rock sample

                  (additional regulation of the pressure in front of the core and water
