In flowing fluids, thermal conduction dominates in the region very close to the
boundary layer, where
– the flow is laminar;
– the flow parallel to the surface;
- there is no any motion.
The measurement of how well a material can conduct heat depends on how it's
molecules are structurally bonded together. A listing of the heat conductivity λ of
various substances is shown in Figure. 5 and table 1.
