UNIT ONE:
VOCABULARY, TEXTS, EXERCISES
1. People have three stages as consumers, or shoppers:
- Young people want “possession experience”; they want to buy
a house and fill it with objects.
- Middle-aged people spend money on things like travel,
education, and sports.
- Older adults want “being experiences”: they get the most
happiness from simple pleasures and human contact.
(Rebecca L. Oxford, Robin C. Scarcella)
