Laboratory work № 1
CRANKSHAFT MECHANISM AND GAS DISTRIBUTOR
MECHANISM OF ENGINE
1 The purpose of the work is to study designation, cinematic
schemes, design features of the crankshaft and gas distributing
mechanisms (CSM and GDM).
2 Basic theoretical provisions
It is necessary to pay attention to the following being studying
the CSM and GDM of engines.
CSM is the basis of the internal combustion engine (ICE) and
depending on the type of engine are executed according to
different design schemes. It consists of a block of cylinders, a
crankcase, a block head, parts of a piston group, a connecting rod,
a crankshaft, a flywheel.
The shape of the combustion chamber affects the
completeness of combustion and the degree of use of heat energy
therefore it is necessary to follow the connection of the design of
the combustion chamber with the chosen scheme of the mixture
formation.
To facilitate the repair of the engine on a number of designs
apply variables or with welded work surfaces special refractory
materials.
In a real engine, the moments of opening and closing the
valves do not coincide with the upward movement of a piston
(UMP) and the downward movement of a piston (DMP). A visual
representation of the operation of the valves is given by the phase
diagram of the gas distribution.
