torque, which is removed from the crankshaft of the engine with
constant fuel feed, practically does not change with the change in
the frequency of rotation. This is due to the fact that the air supply
with the increase in the frequency of rotation changes very little,
since the resistance in the inlet pipeline is much smaller than in the
carburettor. Therefore, the charge in the cylinder of the diesel does
not change with the increase in the speed of the crankshaft,
           providing almost constant torque.
In real operating conditions, the engine speed can fluctuate at
considerable limits with minor changes in external loads.
Therefore, it is necessary to apply a special regulator.
On modern engines are widely distributed superchargers,
which automatically maintain the engine's rotational speed, which
           is set by the driver.
At the same time, the load can vary widely. It is necessary to
understand the principle of the operation of the intrinsic controller,
to study the interaction of its parts in the process of adjusting the
           engine speed.
Studying the power system it is necessary to understand the
design of the fuel tank, its covers with valves, in the structure and
           operation of the fuel pump diaphragm type, air purifier, silencer;
Know the principle of automatically adjusting the performance of
a fuel pump depending on the consumption of gasoline.
It is necessary to study the design and operation of each node
of the diesel power system. When studying the high pressure
pump, it is necessary to pay attention to the design of the plunger
pair, to know how the start and end of the injection is different. It
is necessary to consider the various designs of injectors: open and
closed type, pin and without-pinion, pump-injectors, to study the
principles of operation of fuel pumps of various types (diaphragm,
           piston, gear).
