The calibration of inclinometers
Before the measurements it’s necessary to check the
correctness of the borehole inclinometers screenings. Calibration
of the device is to align the values of magnetic azimuth and angle
of curvature of the well, measured using inclinometers, with
predetermined values of azimuth and angle.
To set a specific azimuth and curvature angles using the
installation table USE-2. A table with a clip for inclinometer has
two-axis for rotation - horizontal and vertical. To set the
inclinometer position in a given azimuth, it’s rotated in a clamp
near the vertical axis to obtain the desired screenings on the limb;
the angle of curvature is given by rotation clamping around a
horizontal axis, where is scale for a reference of angle.
Before the calibration table by adjusting screws installed in
the horizontal position. Angles of curvature, defined at the
installation table, controlled by more accurate device – quadrant
angle measurers. When calibration of inclinometers is made nearby
(5 m) there should not be the objects with magnetic materials.
