Chemical Properties of Salts

                   1. Salts interact with each other if, as a result, an  insoluble salt is formed, a

               lightly dissociation substance, or gas is released:

                                          CaCl 2 + Na 2CO 3 = CaCO 3 + 2NaCl,


                                 2NaHSO 4 +K 2CO 3 = K 2SO 4 + Na 2SO 4 + CO 2 + H 2O.

                   2. Salts interact with oxides (acid or amphoteric) forming salt and acid oxide, if

               the formed oxide is more volatile than the source:

                                            Na 2CO 3 + SiO 2 = Na 2SiO 3 + CO 2
