PREFACE


                   The  main  purpose  of  the  lectures  compendium  for  the  course  in
            “Philosophy”  for  international  students  is  based  on  the  formation  of

            scientific and theoretical world outlook of these future specialists, and
            their understanding of human values.
                   This  category  of  students,  without  taking  into  account  their
            adaptation period,  overcomes  language  and psychological  barriers  and

            gets used to the new social and cultural environment.
                   The  special  task  of  these  lectures  is  the  application  of  priority
            forms of studying according the new technologies, in particular, to the

            credit and modular system of knowledge evaluation and control.
                   The first module of lecture includes the topics №1, №2, the second
            module  includes  the  topics  №3,  №4,  №5,  №6,  №7,  the  third  module
            includes  the  themes  №8,  №9.  Lectures  were  compiled  taking  into

            account  the  regional  peculiarities  of  international  students  studying  at
            our university. So, there  is a separate section which describes in more
            details ancient Indian, ancient Chinese  wisdom, philosophical ideas of

            Arabic countries. Accordingly, these topics and all others are reflected in
            the recommended and additional literature that is suggested for studying
            as a kind of individual work.

                   In general, international students’ attention is focused on the logics
            of  Western  European  and,  in  particular,  Ukrainian  philosophy
            development.

                   Historic,  philosophic,  logical  and  gnoseological  aspects  of  the
            philosophy  development  in  Ukraine  are  closely  connected  with  the
            context of western European philosophic thought, and characterized by a
            clear  definition  of  “unity”,  and  diversity  of  historic  and  philosophic

            process.
