INTRODUCTION
“English for documentation specialists” is designed to help upper-intermediate
and advanced learners of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) improve their
professional vocabulary dealing with documentation sphere. It is for the people
before they start their career in documentation as well as for those already working
and need ESP in their job or want to make a career in the field.
The book consists of 18 units introducing thematic texts for reading, translating
and discussing various professional topics, and a series of exercises based on the
vocabulary used in each unit. The exercises are designed for individual reading,
training grammar and translating skills on the basis of the vocabulary from
“Essentials of Documentation Specialist”. The vocabulary and the glossary sections
as well as the list of reference books will come in handy.
At the back of the book there is an Extra Practice Section providing various
schemes, photos and diagrams to train practical skills in speaking English in
documentation sphere and discussing various professional situations in
documentation. The author hopes the textbook will help broaden professional outlook
and enlarge professional English vocabulary.
